The Village at Western Oaks recently approved three detention pond perimeter rehabilitation projects, which were recommended by the Landscape Committee. The pond locations included:

• Kiva/Amanda Ellis Ponds (Beckett Road side)

• Lantana Way Pond

• Mesa Verde Court Pond (near mailboxes)

The rehab projects consisted of removing dead vegetation, reshaping shrubs to remove dead tips and undergrowth, and removing grapevines. Oak trees and select native volunteer trees were preserved, limbed, and staked for support where needed. These bushes are expected to flush out again next season.
