Village at Western Oaks Receives $17,000 Grant for 21 Little Free Libraries

The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that the Village at Western Oaks has been awarded a $17,000 grant from the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Partnering Program to bring 21 Little Free Libraries to our community!

These charming, book-sharing stations will be installed near each of the association’s mailbox clusters, making it easy for neighbors of all ages to take a book, leave a book, and share the joy of reading. This initiative is a testament to our community’s dedication to literacy, connection, and making our neighborhood an even better place to live.

The Little Free Libraries will be installed with the help of community volunteers, and we’d love for you to be part of it! Whether you’re interested in installing, stocking, or maintaining a library, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

A huge thank you to the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Partnering Program for supporting this project and to all our neighbors who help bring it to life. Stay tuned for installation updates and volunteer opportunities—we can’t wait to see these libraries in action!

📚 Want to get involved? Keep an eye out for upcoming volunteer days, or reach out to VillageAtWesternOaksBoard@gmail.com. Let’s build something great together!
